Choa Chu Kang Badminton Class For Children

Choa Chu Kang Badminton Class is for children who are staying in Choa Chu Kang area who wish to learn proper badminton skills. The entry level is from age 4 to 11 years old and at beginner stage.

This Choa Chu Kang badminton training focus mainly on children who wants to learn all the basic skills development. To be a good badminton player, you must have basic skill development right from the beginning. This is very important for children.

Before sending them for lessons, their parents will definitely compare fees between different coaches. They forgot that they should actually try to check the coach’s training quality and ability instead. The training quality provided by a coach is very important

At the beginning, many parents just want their children to have some exercise so they may teach them how to play badminton themselves.  To the parents, as long as their children is able to hit the shuttlecock, it is considered good enough.

When their children reach the age of between 8 to 11, parents will normally send them for professional coaching lessons. They thought that by doing so, their children will be able to learn new badminton skills faster as they have already learned some from them.

In fact, they are wrong. The children could have been spoilt and also could have learnt the wrong skills if their parents had no proper basic background.

Why? Many parents thought they can teach their children what they already know. Has the parents demonstrated how to move forward towards the net? Is their demonstration correct?

What is the correct way? Will their kids be able to understand their demonstration? If they do not understand, then they will also not be able to learn the proper footwork.

The most important thing is to make sure the children understand why they have to master certain footwork. By taking time to explain, they will understand and will be able to absorb. This way, they will also learn faster.

So when it comes to badminton training class for children beginner, it is not so simple. Even if a national player were to personally private coach a child, he may not be able to do so successfully. Always remember that coaching is very different from playing.

Being a national player does not mean that you are able to coach very well. A coach need to first understand the child and next how to go about explaining. This is the reason why some children who have been learning from ex national player or ex sports school do not improve very much or fast enough. On top of this, their fees are also very high.

Choa Chu Kang Badminton Training Focus on badminton Basic Development

There will only be maximum of 4 children in a class for Choa Chu Kang Children Badminton Training Class. Our Head Badminton Coach will be able to focus on the students basic skill development with this group size.

At most badminton academy, the children are taught by an Assistant Coach. What can your child learn in 2 hours? Frankly nothing much as normally the Assistant Coach is busy with throwing shuttlecocks for children to hit. He will not have time or be able to check if the children are doing the correct footwork.

We are talking about having only 4 children in a class being taught by Assistant Coach. Very often there are more than 5 children in a class. Furthermore, the children may be taught by different Assistant Coaches every week. The children at the end will be quite confused as very often different coaches has different coaching styles.

A good example a child may tell you that when he plays according to coach A’s instruction, coach B will say it is wrong. Sometimes there are more than 2 coaches in an academy. This means that there may have 3 different approaches and methods used.

To a child, this is very confusing and the child will also feel that he is stupid. After some time, he will lose interest in badminton. That is why we always feel that there should not be any assistant coaches and not too many children in a class.

Head Badminton Coach Held Children Badminton Classes

This is the reason why our Head Badminton Coach will personally coach children badminton class. To make sure that the children will have a better chance of being good badminton player, we do not have Assistant Coach or Coaches.  This year, 2019, we will be following the latest badminton training standard for all our children classes.

We will not treat our children badminton basic development as a money making business. This is because they may one day be the national pillar of our state.

When a class in Choa Chu Kang Badminton Training is full, we will not accept any more children even if parents are willing to pay more.

Badminton Coaching for Children in Choa Chu Kang (CCK)

If we accept the child because of the extra money, we will not be fair to the other children in the class. This will also cause delay to their improvement progress. A child will get 30 minutes of coaching if there are only 4 to a class of 2 hours. Whereas a child will only get 24 minutes if there are 5 in a class.

Normally in children badminton classes, the first 30 minutes is spent on doing footwork, racket swinging, etc. This leaves the class with only 90 minutes. This 90 minutes will be shared by 4 children. Each child will get 22.5 minutes of playing time with the coach individually. If there are 5 children, then each child will get even less time. He will only get 18 minutes.

This is the reason why we always keep to the ratio of 4 children in a class. Our Head Coach will also personally teach. This way, the children will have more time with our Head Badminton Coach. We also believe that children will improve faster if they are being taught by a structured badminton programme.

This is also the reason why the children after some time will be accepted in the school badminton team. Their parents also need not worry about their children skills level improvement result during our badminton training.

If we ever find that a particular child has badminton talent, we will spend more time with him. Likewise, if we find that a child is not interested in badminton, we will advise his parents about this. The parents can then decide whether their child should quit or not. This way, the parents will not be wasting their time and money.
